Therefore, women will call it a relationship so they won’t sound like a slut, and guys will entertain the role of boyfriend so they can keep having regular sex with the female. Like most men who have their life together, I like my women in shape. Sometimes I feel like I should’ve been born in the 50′s just to live in the 70′s era. Personally I think back then black women were the shit. Damn 9 out 10 were shaped like Destiny’s Child members. In this day and age, a vast majority are shaped like the female cast of precious. In my opinion, I think people, generally speaking, may have a "charity case" mentality when it comes to supporting Black business. Why do I say that? Black folks have a "poor people of society" stigma attached to us. When you have people rapping about it, talking about the Black population as majority welfare recipients, etc. the stigma is strong. Now, with this stigma out here, when a person comes along and wants to start his or her own business, and he or she happens to be Black, that person may advertise the business as a BLACK-OWNED. That person will say "Support Black Business" in the signs and adverts. This is the wrong way to look at it. Black business is not some Feed The Children Foundation. It's not a March of Dimes Foundation. It's business that happens to be owned by Black folks. Treat it like this and you'll see your numbers climb higher than you can imagine. Although the popular narrative from within the dominant society is that Melanoid people live in dysfunction, there are some from within the Melanoid community who beg to differ. DeSoto, a city located in Northern Texas, boasts a Melanoid population of nearly 70 percent. Out of the total businesses owned in DeSoto, a robust 56 percent of them are Melanoid owned. Although statistics show inclusive graduation numbers regarding all racial groups in DeSoto, the city shows a 92 percent high school graduation rate of individuals 25 years of age or older, between 2009-2013 (Keep in mind that approximately 70 percent of DeSoto’s population comprises of Melanoid citizens). According to the February 27th news report from NBC DFW, the median income of DeSoto is $60,945, with less than 10 percent of the city’s population living under the poverty line.
