Why Black Men Can't Be "Mens Rights Activists"

Image
This post was initially a video made by Professor Black Truth . However, the video got taken down by YouTube. Initially, I was going to make a post that detailed why. However, his video did such a splendid job that I didn’t feel I needed to make a post about this. However, the reason Black men should shy away from this movement is that many “Red Pill” White guys are White supremacists. I recall a post on the website Alpha Game Plan talking about a Reddit section called “Niggers.” Several notable Red Pill theorists commented on it. Everyone was generally upset that the site was taken down. Now, to Black men that claim to be Red Pill and have some sort of alliance with Neo-Conservative White Supremacists, they view you as niggers. Moreover, the biggest issue in Black society is racism—, particularly for Black men. Feminism is a secondary issue that we deal with. Additionally, many feminists are also White supremacists that are having a scuffle with White men. They dupe stupid Bla

The Dominant Society Bases its Success on the Suffering of Melanoid People

Image
The way the dominant society works in this country is it views itself as successful because Black people are unemployed. However, many White people are under-employed. Many Black people are close to being homeless. Many White people are broke and struggling. Either way, you look at it, this country is struggling. However, the dominant society views itself as successful because it’s doing better than us. However, only doing slightly better than a person that's struggling means they, too, are struggling. Furthermore, what does it say about the dominant society if—despite the privileges awarded to them due to their race—they’re only doing slightly better than us? It means they’re pathetic. I once wrote a post where I talked about the economy here . I only spoke of the American economy which means our numbers are much worse because we're not considered to be American . Black People Aren’t Making Things Up: The Science Behind ‘Racial Battle Fatigue’

Image
Credit: Shutterstock In the early 2000s, University of Utah researcher William A. Smith coined the term “racial battle fatigue” while studying how racialized microaggressions—relatively inconspicuous, but potent, degradation of marginalized people—affected black students at predominately white colleges and universities. His paper, titled “ Challenging Racial Battle Fatigue ,” concluded that students of African descent constantly worry, have trouble concentrating, become fatigued, and develop headaches when navigating personal and professional spaces that have historically favored white people. Even more frustrating for undergraduates of color, Smith asserted, was an assumption by the majority power structure that leveling the playing field stopped at integrating them into institutions of higher education. Since then, a series of studies have built on Smith’s findings, with researchers coming to similar conclusions about what has been described as the pitfalls of living while bla

Handling racial microaggressions

Buzzfeed Image The topics of race and racism have dominated the media headlines like nothing else in 2015. Many timelines, newspapers, and news programs are featuring hashtags and slogans with the central element of racism. Some may argue that these issues of racism are nothing new. However, there has been an uptick in the awareness of such problems. Locally, we have had our share of incidents as well. One thing that I have had several conversations about with colleagues has been how all this coverage of horrid things happening to Black people affects our emotional and social health. This is something that definitely needs to be taken into consideration. How does the average African American child perceive another Black child being murdered or aggressively handled? How does the average African American person come to work and answer obvious racially insensitive questions from a coworker? As African Americans, we have to keep in mind how these tragic incidents are affectin
