The Media’s Influence on Culture

Image
Anyone that reads my posts can tell that I’m an ardent anime fan. So, I’m going to point out something that I’ve peeped in recent animes that’s becoming a norm. I’m noticing a rise in harems in animes that aren’t harems. Examples of these are animes such as “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” “The Rising of The Shield Hero,” and “Overlord.” None of these animes are harems. They’re all isekais.  An isekai is an anime about a protagonist that gets transported to another world. Examples of older isekais are series such as “Inuyasha,”  “Fushigi Yugi,” and “Digimon Adventure.” It used to be that harems were a very defined genre. Most harems were mostly slice of life—albeit done in different settings. They’re generally favored by women—ironically. However, the aforementioned series hold more serious tones and are favored more by men. Also, these series are more popular than isekais typically are. Prior to the popularity of Sword Art Online, the last major isekai was “.Hack//Sign

We Don’t Live in a Capitalist Society

Image
America falsely labels our economy capitalistic. However, this is a misnomer. A true capitalist society is based on survival of the fittest. Only the strong survive. So, in a pure capitalist economy, former President Obama would’ve never bailed out “too big to fail” companies. They would’ve just failed. Further proof that we live in a racially biased country are the multiple companies complaining about being understaffed —despite the numerous under-employed (and unemployed) Black people in this country. These companies are holding out for qualified White candidates. In a purely capitalist society, only the most qualified individuals would get the job. Also, people would be paid based on merit. Right now, people are paid based on their race and gender . White men earn the most. Hispanic women earn the least. However, we’re all aware that—if you go to any professional job that entails service—the Black people will be the hardest working employees. This is despite being paid less tha

Combatting Racially-Charged Reverse Psychology Tactics

Image
This post is late; however, I want to talk about combating these tactics. This post stems from the racially-charged reverse psychology attacks that Black men received during the Jussie Smollett controversy. Many Black men were skeptical about the entire incident. Some were like myself. I was on the fence. I didn't have all of the details. So, I decided to wait until more information was released. Furthermore, before speaking up for Jussie Smollet, I wanted to know would he emphasize his attack as being a racially-charged attack or a sexuality-charged attack. We have to be very selective of whom we speak up for--lest we have another Teresa Klein incident . Now, Black people with their thinking caps on didn't immediately jump to Jussie's defense. However, that doesn't mean that we initially believed the NYPD either. We sat back and gathered more details. Ultimately, his scars and the medical report would reveal the truth. Moreover, it did. Jussie did not have the kin

The Obama Effect

Image
Right now, the American Descendants of Slaves (ADOS) Movement is moving forward at full throttle. Democrats are scratching their heads like where did this come from. This all originated from President Obama's intentional neglect of the circumstances of the Black community—especially Black men. President Obama did something for everyone except Black men. Furthermore, despite President Obama being a Black man himself, he increased the status for all other "minorities" except Black people. His benign neglect policies--along with centuries of neglect--are what has triggered the intensity of this movement. Furthermore, Democrats promoting politicians that will speak for everyone else's interests, except Black people's, further fueled the passion of the ADOS Movement. President Trump being in office simply encouraged White supremacists to be more open with their racism. This has caused even the most ignorant of Black people to wake up to the racist environment that

Owning Accountability

Image
The purpose of me making this post is the recent government shutdown that we encountered. The dominant society has placed the blame on Melanese individuals. So, rather than ducking and dodging accountability, I instead accept it. In the Melanoid community, we have a problem with taking liability when it’s viewed negatively. However, we have to get over that. If the dominant society wants to blame us for what President Trump does, then we should readily accept it. I’ll take the blame for that. If anything, this means we're powerful. Powerful people elicit action. So, if the dominant society doesn’t want us to invoke voter nullification again, then they have to give us government set-asides to obtain our vote. We’ve already shown what we're capable of when tested. So, don’t make us do it again. Melanoid people, we have to embrace the power that has been thrust upon us. If the dominant society wants to make us the culprit of all things, then we need to analyze what we’re bei

What Would Happen If Segregation Never Ended?

Image
Before I pretend like I'm the doctor from "Back to The Future," let's talk a little about being forced into giving something to someone. You may be saying, "Hey, what integration did was good because you wouldn't have Black folks working for lucrative companies like Microsoft.” Well, after this post you're going to be like "Wow, I would have never imagined a world where we had the chips in our favor." Anyway, a lot of these companies don't hire Black folks because they want to; they hire them to meet a quota in certain cases. If you start your sentence by saying, "In the company I work for I'm the first Black" you already know what the deal is. When you focus on getting yours, you'll see something amazing happen. Okay, Marty, let's travel back to a time when Black folks had to deal with having to put up with signs that said: "No Coloreds Allowed.” Let's say we time-traveled and we were carrying the book P

Obedience is a vice, not a virtue!

Image
(I took a lot of liberties in fine-tuning this post because the original poster speaks English as a second language, so he had several grammatical issues. However, I kept the core post. -Derrick Mills) Although we live in a so-called “free society” most of us feel that there is something wrong with this view. Freedom is a highly cherished wish, but only a minority can also feel it in the reality of their life, at least to the degree they wish for. Obedience is an issue which strongly influences this feeling. Officially most people deny obedience in our times and believe to be free individuals, but when we take a closer look, we see very clearly that this is not the case at all. Authority nowadays is hidden and anonymous, and therefore it is tough even to detect it and to do something against it. However, even more, there is still a considerable amount of people who have an authoritarian character structure which forced them to accept obedience but also to adamantly demand it from

Individual Success, Team Success, and the Black Community

Image
We've individualized success. Listen, nobody is a success who hasn't brought his/her community along with them. The notion of individual success is confused. It was Michael Jordan in the 80s when the Bulls kept losing. I actually think that basketball is a great analogy. You look at the players with the most rings, and it's the players of a particular era of the league, in a particular moment in history, and they weren't even the best players on their team. Sure. There is Bill Russell, but John Havlicek is also high on that list; Wilt Chamberlain isn't even on it . The point is that success and failure are only partially about you. Moreover, individual success amid mass failure is only partial success. I guess the fear is that if you tell people this, they won't try. However, the greater fear is that if you don't tell people this, they end up blaming themselves for not being a Celtic in the 60s. LeBron James, as great as he is, will never be a Tom He

The Cause of the United States Military Might

Image
As we all know, the United States invests a significant portion of everyone's income into its military. However, this isn't the sole reason why the US is a military powerhouse. To understand why the US is a military Powerhouse one has merely to look at its name,  “United States.” This means that it consists of several states that are united. This is where the US differs from most other countries. Many continents are filled with many countries. North America is primarily filled with four countries. (It also has Central America which consists of smaller countries.) However, Greenland, Canada, Mexico, and the United States are the major countries that make-up North America. South America doesn't have too many countries either. However, the United States is unique. The states--which are about the size of many Eastern-Continents' countries--are united. So, the primary benefit that the United States has is unification and codification. If a country chooses to go to war

Time is Money

Image
Many aspiring entrepreneurs haven’t quite grasped this concept yet because they’re new to the whole idea of controlling their time. So, they undervalue it and allow others to underestimate it. Being an entrepreneur has many advantages, but it also has disadvantages. An advantage is that you’re able to take care of many errands during the day. However, the downside is that you have to remember to save time for making money and looking for other ways to make money. Entrepreneurs have to be innovators to stay ahead of the curve. So, we must always think outside of the box. For people that’ve worked 9 to 5’s, and have observed the many shortcomings of their employers, this is your chance to apply the correct methods to achieve your goals. Entrepreneurial Essentials 1)    No one can be an island unto himself/herself. So, one is going to have to form business connections. So, there’ll be some giving and some taking. Just make sure the relationship is mutually beneficial. 2)    Learn h

Never Ask for Things that you should be Given, Command Them

Image
This post goes out to all of the Aboriginal people in the diaspora. Many of us have a terrible knack for asking for things that should be given to us. I don't know when, but a long time ago, I broke that cycle.  For the longest, I haven't asked for things that should be given to me. I merely talk as if these things are already a given. Now, I'm going to give an example of a business negotiation that resulted in my company changing its compensation policy--at least for me. My company has a policy regarding its life insurance policies. It compensates the insurance agents via production-credits. The insurance agents get the production-credits--while the financial specialist receives the compensation. It doesn't matter if the insurance agent is licensed in life insurance as well. Now, how many aborigine people would take this policy as is? However, my personal constitution doesn't allow me to let people screw me out of money. So, whenever I'm presented a fishy d

WNBA: Wage Gap Problem

Image
Currently, a hot issue is the wage gap in the WNBA. These women have a right to be upset due to how low their wages are--compared to their male counterparts. However, their grievance shouldn't be with their male colleagues. Furthermore, they shouldn't look for the men to stand in solidarity with them. How often do we see women stand in solidarity with men--in regards to men's issues? Furthermore, the men of the NBA aren’t the ones that write their checks. That's the main reason why their grievance shouldn't be with the NBA players. Their issue should be with the WNBA owners that are underpaying them. However, taking to social media to voice their grievances isn't going to solve their wage gap concerns. This country was founded on slavery. Furthermore, throughout this country's existence, it has been plagued with having to combat labor unions. So, it's fair to say that this country doesn't believe in honest pay for an honest day's work. Unle

Don't Be Fooled By Anti-White Extremist Protests

Image
A person that watches the news may see some of these White Extremists protests as "The Good White People Vs. The Bad White People.”  Why do I say this?  Am I negative?  I like to put things into perspective before I give a side full credit for anything.  First off, what do a lot of these White Extremists groups hate most? -Gays -Asians -Latinos -Jews -Interracial couples and interracial sex (mainly Black Men/White Women) -Black people This is just a small sample of the many things they hate.  So, if you happen to be a White woman that loves black dick, but aren’t too fond of Black women, you may feel a certain way.  What about if you're a gay White man?  What about if you're Jewish?  How about the White Latinos like Ricky Martin (that's Latino and gay) or Pitbull?  They're not Afro-Latinos; may check "White" for their race, but they understand that White Extremists will treat them like the darkest Latino in Latin America.  Don't confuse W

Media Manipulation

Image
I want to talk about various instances of media manipulation. While on LinkedIn, I recall seeing articles talk about the economic progress that is taking place in America. Now, from my previous articles, we know that the exact opposite is occurring. Another example of media manipulation is things related to the Kardashians. Most Black people don’t observe the daily happenings of the Kardashians. Whenever Kim wears a Black hair doo--which the media will rename something else, i.e., calling cornrows boxer braids, we don’t notice until an article pops up about Black people allegedly upset about it. These articles will pop up and tell us how we feel about specific topics and then sheeple will get in line and invoke that feeling. The same media manipulation attempts to transpire when a Black spokesperson gets on camera and states his/her opinions on relevant topics. Often, the person speaking is reading from a pre-approved script and is voicing what White supremacist suspects want him/h

Employer’s Market

Image
In today’s economy , we have an employer’s market. This means that the job market is overwhelmingly in favor of employers. This grants employers leverage to hire and fire whenever they want. However, despite these advantages that they have, many employers are crying wolf about there just not being any eligible candidates to fill their roles. What these employers—that happen to be White—are really saying is that there aren’t any suitable White candidates to fill these roles. Right now, America is in the midst of an opioid epidemic which bears the likeness of the bubonic plague . Moreover, these jobs are what are considered to be “good” high-paying jobs. So, companies don’t want to hire Black people to fill these roles. In fact, many are discussing removing drug testing because it’s proving to be too much of a barrier . So, these employers would rather hire drug addicts and lose money on 2 ends (paying the addict’s salary and losing money due to low productivity) than hire qualifi
