When Your Back Is Against the Wall

As I reflect on my 43 years of life. I think back to how easily things could have been different. I was born to a mother who suffered from mental illness and a father who took his frustration out on the world by him beating my sister and me, but this isn't a sad Donald Goines' tale or a Robert Beck's tale where I am surrounded by villains of the ghetto. I am here to tell you no matter how bad things get, fight! When she leaves! When you lose your job, when a loved one passes, fight! I was diagnosed, denied, and denigrated. I chose to fight because I refused to believe what people thought about me or what people told me.  I sought after knowledge, I embraced self-discipline. I used self-control as a comforting blanket. It secured me, it matured me. To all my brothers going through hard times, learn to condition your mind and tell yourself "This is part of the process." Adopt self-will. Learn the methods of Sun Tzu, learn The Art of War, learn how to use energy, and embrace tactical dispositions. Read Proverbs and embrace King Solomon’s wisdom. Read The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem and rebuild yourself emotionally. I am here to help.  Learn to discard useless people in your life. Learn to value yourself. When you say you're going to do something, do it! When you look in the mirror tell yourself you are not a finished product. Go to the gym and focus on strength. When you go home, find solitude. When you go to work, create an aura of authority. When you are with your girl, create an aura of a dominant male. This takes time, and there is no better teacher than failure. Don’t put faith in people; put your faith in yourself--which is governed by the game. Teach yourself to identify the real from the fake. Robert Beck’s novellas can help identify authentic people as well as life experiences. Life is hard my friend, but always tell yourself you will win no matter what; no man or woman--made of flesh and bone--can stop you. -Nidhamu75, 11/09/2018 Courtesy of UPA
