Negotiating Business Terms Like a Boss Rather than Like a Slave

For the longest, I’ve chosen to shy away from mentioning Jay-Z’s ruse because it didn’t warrant addressing. Many others have covered it in extensive detail. So, I’m going to address this in terms of business negotiating. Pay attention. It’s time to learn how to negotiate like a boss. Let’s start.
For my example of a slave attempting to negotiate business terms, I’ll be using Jay-Z. Many look at him as a Machiavellian figure. This is an insult to Machiavellianism and game. There’s very little that’s Machiavellian about Jay-Z. He’s nothing more than a multi-million-dollar slave. He’s proven
this time-and-time again. He’s only too willing to be used as a puppet on a string. He did this with the Brooklyn Nets’ situation. He misled the ADOS community into thinking he was a majority owner when he’s only a fraction percentage of a minority owner. He did it again with Tidal. He got out and acted as the face to lower Black people’s defenses. All he got was a payout for this.
Finally, we have the National Football League (NFL). He babbled like an idiot and reached a deal for his artists to perform at the Superbowl’s half-time show.
This is thinking small time. Power Players know that money is a tool to amass power. It’s not the end itself. Jay-Z already has money. So, he should be at the stage of utilizing it to influence events. Instead, he acts like a slave to money. He scores himself a few dollars, but he’s isolating himself from the Black community. He’s doing this despite the countless times other Black people have done this to their demise.
Now, let’s move on to negotiating like a boss. 1st off, a boss won’t be used cheaply. At the end of the day, it’s all about gaining leverage. So, using the Brooklyn Nets’ situation, a boss would ensure that all of the jobs involving the arena are granted to the inhabitants of the area—which in this case are Black people.
In the Tidal situation, he/she would require a more substantial stake in the company.
Finally, the NFL negotiation stupidity really sealed the deal. Nothing about Jay-Z is indicative of a chess player. The NFL was reeling and desperate. He could’ve spun it numerous ways to his advantage while gaining massive leverage over the NFL. However, he blew it. Whatever your opponent has of value, you take a chunk of it to gain leverage over him/her. This is the basis of negotiation. Light-hearted textbooks will make light of this. However, until you and the one you’re negotiating against come to a deal, he/she is your opponent. Moreover, he/she is attempting to gain dominance over you. So, you do likewise.
To negotiate like a boss, you have to have insight into your opponent’s background, field, resources, and weaknesses. These things come into play when you request concessions of his/her resources because you’re willing to exploit all of his/her weaknesses.
In a negotiation, you’re either going to be the winner or the loser. Moreover, the more you concede to your detriment, the more losses you’re taking.
Now, let’s move beyond Jay-Z. Let’s elevate negotiating to the macro-level. There’s a primary reason why America vehemently rebukes paying reparations to ADOS. Idiots tout that we’ll just give the money back. However, America understands that there are sharks amongst ADOS that’ll flip their money many different ways and will never struggle again. These sharks are what the White supremacists fear. However, this is why it’s imperative to hold steady on our square.
